The conditions are dangerous for backcountry touring and other off-piste activities in steep terrain. The fresh wind slabs are in some cases extensive and prone to triggering. They are to be found adjacent to ridgelines on southeast, south and southwest facing slopes and at high altitudes. Single backcountry tourers or freeriders can release avalanches easily, including medium-sized ones. <br/> In particular on very steep slopes small to medium-sized dry avalanches are to be expected as a consequence of the new snow. This snow can be released by a single winter sport participant in all aspects above approximately 1800 m. <br/> Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for caution and restraint. Over a wide area 15 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen since yesterday above approximately 2000 m. 10 to 15 cm of snow will fall until the evening above approximately 1500 m. The northwesterly wind will transport the new snow. The wind will be moderate to strong adjacent to ridgelines in particular in the south. The fresh snow as well as the wind slabs are lying on the quite favourable surface of an old snowpack in all aspects. During the course of the night as a consequence of new snow and stormy weather there will be a significant increase in the danger of dry avalanches to level 3 (considerable).
