Some rain fell in the past few hours. As the moisture increases medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large moist snow slides and avalanches are possible below approximately 2300 m. Avalanches can in some cases be released by people or triggered naturally. Gliding avalanches are also to be expected at any time. <br/> <br/> As a consequence of new snow and northwesterly wind, sometimes easily released wind slabs formed in the last two days adjacent to ridgelines on east and south facing slopes. Sometimes the avalanches in these loacations are medium-sized. <br/> <br/> Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and careful route selection. Up to 5 cm of snow fell in the past few hours above approximately 2300 m. The sometimes strong wind has transported the new snow significantly. In particular in the vicinity of peaks the wind slabs have increased in size additionally in the last two days. The high humditiy will give rise by midday to gradual moistening of the snowpack in all aspects in particular at low and intermediate altitudes. Moist avalanches can in isolated cases be triggered in near-ground layers and reach dangerously large size. On steep, rather lightly snow-covered shady slopes the likelihood of avalanches being released is greater. Sharp increase in danger of dry avalanches as the snowfall becomes more intense. Significant decrease in danger of moist avalanches as the temperature drops.
