As a consequence of new snow and wind the already large wind slabs will increase in size once again until the middle of the day. These can over a wide area be released by people and reach large size in isolated cases. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep east and south facing slopes above approximately 2200 m. They are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility. <br/> Large quantities of fresh snow and the wind-drifted snow of last week can be released easily, or, in isolated cases naturally in all aspects and generally at intermediate and high altitudes. In many cases the avalanches in these regions are medium-sized and very easily released. <br/> <br/> Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for extensive experience in the assessment of avalanche danger. On Sunday on wind-loaded slopes several small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized avalanches were released. <br/> <br/> 20 to 25 cm of snow will fall until the early morning in all altitude zones. The wind will be moderate to strong in the vicinity of peaks. <br/> <br/> At intermediate and high altitudes a very large amount ofsnow is lying for the time of year. At low altitude thus far only a little snow is lying. The danger of dry slab avalanches will not decrease for the time being.
